The first of the sculptures I was asked to propose was for 2 works to adorn the swimming pool area on the upper deck. They had to be within a set dimension and be weather proof, obviously living their life atop a cruise ship the weather doesn’t get much more abrasive. Aside from that the creative freedom was up to me so I took inspiration from the previous works and the location and designed a diver that looked over the swimmers and protected them.
The material was fibreglass to reduce weight and was painted in an eye catching colour. My suggestion was along the primary pallet leaning towards a red because of the blue that surrounded it both in the sky and the water.
Because of time restraints with the proposal I was not able get the final design into 3d and resolve it completely so the presentation was with Photoshop renders.
