Gravel is a cheap and under rated commodity sometimes, not only can the right material make a wonderful impact on your garden but it is also much easier to lay than paving and has the added benefit of being a security alarm when intruders walk on it and make noise. Couple it with paving and you can get a great effect, or use it to surround the plantations that you have about the garden.
I have collated a few gardens that I feel really make use of the properties of gravel and enable the garden to show contrast to the greenery around.
