Having made inroads in to the sculpture market I began to look at ways in which I could maximise on the knowledge I gained from working with concrete and fibreglass. I looked at the garden industry and saw that with my design skills I could offer a range of large outdoor flower pots that were interesting but different to what is already on the market.
I looked at the ancient art of origami for inspiration and that tallies with the current trends in design with many products coming out of Scandinavia and cutting edge design fairs showing similar styles. The geometric garden flower pots work really well and make for a striking feature in the garden. They work well with many kinds of planting and either work in contrast or harmony with it.
The pots are all hand made in my Hertfordshire studio by myself using fibreglass moulds and lots of labour. I specifically designed them to be handleable so they weigh in at under 30kg meaning customers can lift if they do so carefully but I recommend a 2 person lift to be safe.
